Weathering and Durability

Weathering and Durability
Accelerated weathering and durability tests are routinely conducted on a wide range of fenestration products and components. Accelerated weathering and durability tests are performed by subjecting fenestration products to thermal cycling (-20 degrees F to +180 degrees F), ultraviolet (UVA and UVB), simulated solar radiation, high humidity and freeze/thaw cycles. The ability of insulated glass sealants to resist water vapor transmission is evaluated by exposing them to high humidity and high/low temperature cycling with UV and water spray exposure, then air space moisture content is measured. Other fenestration components and products are evaluated for weather resistance and durability via similar exposure in the environmental chamber.
